Peanut Detection Service Dog

New Puppy in Training: DUKE

Hi, my name is Cameron Meyer, and I am a sophomore in high school. I have a severe peanut allergy, and the doctors tell me that I have the worst form of this allergy. Peanut allergies are different than other food allergies, because they can be airborne. I can have a severe reaction from just being next to someone who is eating something with peanuts. I always have a severe reaction if I actually come in contact with peanuts. I once had a reaction at school which made it hard for me to breathe. My mom had to rush to the school office to administer an Epi-pen, and then an ambulance took me to the hospital. I had no idea where I was exposed to peanuts that day.
There are no medicines that I can take to prevent reactions, but we have discovered another way to reduce my risks of exposure, and make it safer for me to go to school, church, camps, movies, etc. Our new discovery is a PEANUT DETECTION SERVICE DOG. Dogs can be used to detect seizures, illegal narcotics, cancer, and now--peanuts. My dog will be trained to alert me if any peanut product is nearby. His smelling ability is over 300 times as strong as mine. He will also be trained to get help and to get my medica tion, if I become unconscious.
Now, the point of this letter. I am asking for your help. Well trained service dogs are very expensive--$7,500. Would you prayerfully consider helping me financially, so that I can obtain this dog? Noelle’s Angel Dogs is a non-profit organization that trains service dogs, including peanut detection dogs. While a service dog will not remove all risks, he will reduce them greatly. This will allow me to live a more normal life, and go many places that I cannot now go.
If you are able to help, please complete the bottom portion of this form, and mail your tax deductible donation in the envelope provided. If you are unable to help at this time, could you please pray for me in this endeavor? If you would like more information, my email is cameronspeanutdog@gmail.com You may contact Noelle’s Angel Dogs (tax id 33-1217134) at tina@angelservicedogs.org

Thank you very much for your consideration,

Cameron Meyer
